As part of the growing trend requiring designers to submit deliverables in Revit, this project also included such a requirement. The client approached us with a request to model the structural design created in AutoCAD using Revit, and additionally to produce construction drawings from the model at the end of the process.

As with this project and many others, the professional aspect does not end with the ability to create a model. In order to produce high-quality structural drawings, we needed to have a thorough understanding of structural drafting standards and graphic representation rules, including differences in hatch patterns between continuous and extending elements, different concrete types, various ceiling types, and more.

In the following examples, you can see the 3D model created based on the client's AutoCAD drawings, the construction drawings produced from the model, and the quantity extraction of the different concrete types.
