Project type: Creation of parametric models (families) for scaffolding components
Client: Rafael Naaman Engineering Ltd.

Rafael Engineering Ltd. approached us after taking on a scaffolding design project at Intel’s new factory in Kiryat Gat. As expected from large-scale companies, Intel provided a clear requirement to work in Revit. Although Rafael Naaman Ltd. already had the knowledge and ability to work and model in Revit, they approached us to maximize the software’s capabilities by creating the various scaffolding components as “smart” elements (parametric families) that can automatically change their shape based on values entered into predefined parameter fields.

In addition, we created a spreadsheet containing a complete list of all scaffolding components, which updates automatically and in real time in terms of quantities as soon as the modeler in the office begins working on the model.

In the following examples, you can see the different scaffolding components we created, the methods for making parametric changes to them, an example of a complete scaffold assembly built from all its individual parts, and the intelligent quantity schedule.
